Reproducible chart

Hexagram 22 賁

Static hexagram, no changing lines

7 8 7 8 8 7

Original author’s interpretation summary

The original chart has no Parents line. The author takes second-line Wu Fire Parents from the matching position in the Gen palace’s pure hexagram, hidden beneath second-line Chou Earth. Ren-Chen belongs to the Jia-Shen cycle, with Wu and Wei void.

Outcome reported in the book

The author predicts receipt on Jia-Wu when the void ends, and the text says the documents were indeed received that day. This is a retrospective report; the site cannot verify the specific year, documents or person.

Site review boundaries

  1. This is static Mountain-over-Fire Bi. The six original values reproduce its line pattern; there are no changing lines and no resulting hexagram.
  2. The site’s missing-category hidden-line method independently recalculates second-line Bing-Wu Fire Parents hidden beneath visible Chou Earth.
  3. The correspondence between leaving void and receipt is the book’s timing interpretation. The site does not use it to predict modern document processing.

Reading boundaries

Reported outcomes represent the original author’s account, not independent historical verification. This case is not an automatic interpretation template for a user’s present result.

Topic tags identify structures involved in this case, not divinatory efficacy verified by the site.

Working translation of the site’s Chinese editorial case review, not a translation of the classical source. Native-language review is pending; original source names and locators remain in Chinese.

Hidden lines

Limited implementation

The site follows Bushi Zhengzong: search for a hidden line only when a Six Relations category is entirely absent from the original hexagram, taking the matching position in the pure hexagram of its palace. Yilin Buyi instead uses a yin–yang interchange system in which every line has hidden and visible counterparts; that is a separate method.

The adopted convention must be stated. The two systems’ hidden-line positions must not be combined, and their generating or controlling relations do not automatically produce fortune judgments.

Ten-day-cycle void

Structural implementation

The day’s ten-day cycle determines two void branches. Both works discuss further conditions involving phase strength, changing or unchanging lines, and clashes that fill the void. This site calculates only the day pillar’s cycle and void branches and lists the relevant line positions; it does not apply subsequent judgments such as being void yet not void.

Cycle void is a calendrical structure, not a statement that an undertaking is ineffective. It does not automatically determine outcomes or timing.
