Original author’s interpretation summary

The author takes the Si day generating the Parents line as indicating that the father’s situation was acceptable at that time. Yet the three outer-trigram branches remain unchanged at their positions after line changes, which the author calls fuyin, retaining concern about difficulties at the post and a delayed return.

Outcome reported in the book

The text then reports local unrest and danger, followed by a return in a Chen year and another appointment in a Wu year. These are the author’s records, lacking specific dates and personal details that could be independently checked.

Site review boundaries

  1. Lines five and six are old yang. Recalculation changes Gou to Heng, matching the text.
  2. Outer-trigram Wu, Shen and Xu remain Wu, Shen and Xu at the same positions after changes. This meets the site’s outer-trigram fuyin convention: three unchanged corresponding branches in a region undergoing changes.
  3. The book’s judgments about safety, unrest and return dates are not part of the site’s automatic interpretation and cannot replace real-world safety information.

Reading boundaries

Reported outcomes represent the original author’s account, not independent historical verification. This case is not an automatic interpretation template for a user’s present result.

Topic tags identify structures involved in this case, not divinatory efficacy verified by the site.

Working translation of the site’s Chinese editorial case review, not a translation of the classical source. Native-language review is pending; original source names and locators remain in Chinese.

Fuyin

Limited implementation

Zengshan Buyi describes fuyin as unchanged branch assignments at matching positions in inner or outer trigrams undergoing line changes. Yilin Buyi also classifies static pure hexagrams as trigram fuyin. This site uses the former changing-line convention and retains the latter as an alternative account.

The algorithm reports three unchanged branches only in regions undergoing changes. Fuyin is not automatically converted into fortune judgments or action advice.

Month and day branches

Calendrical structure implementation

The month reference uses the branch of the solar-term month; the day reference uses the day branch for the selected time-zone date. Zengshan Buyi and Yilin Buyi both use these references in subsequent discussions of strength, generation, control, clashes and combinations. The site calculates them with its calendar engine and cross-checks the month and day recorded in each case.

Month and day are chart references, not independent fortune judgments. A classical case without a year cannot identify a unique Gregorian date.
