Original author’s interpretation summary

The Mao Wood Parents line at the top changes and is clashed by You day. The author rejects immediately calling every day-clashed changing line scattered, instead considering Mao Wood changing to Zi Water with returning generation and the line’s change itself. The case chiefly limits the scope of the scattered-movement rule.

Outcome reported in the book

The text records the father’s return, described as successful in the second month. Year, location, identity and what success meant are absent, so the site cannot independently verify the report.

Site review boundaries

  1. Old yang at the top line changes Huan to Kan, matching the text.
  2. Mao and You clash, but the author explicitly rejects casually treating a strong changing line or one retaining strength as scattered. This counterexample remains visible.
  3. Return timing and safety are interpretations in the book, not tools for locating missing people or making real-world safety decisions.

Reading boundaries

Reported outcomes represent the original author’s account, not independent historical verification. This case is not an automatic interpretation template for a user’s present result.

Topic tags identify structures involved in this case, not divinatory efficacy verified by the site.

Working translation of the site’s Chinese editorial case review, not a translation of the classical source. Native-language review is pending; original source names and locators remain in Chinese.

Dispersed movement

Automatic calculation deferred

Zengshan Buyi rejects treating every clashed changing line as scattered, allowing only rare possibilities when it is weak and without strength. Yilin Buyi likewise distinguishes strong lines activated by a clash from weak lines scattered by it. These conditions depend on strength assessments and the author’s experience, not merely on a changing line meeting a clash.

Only counterexamples and textual limitations are retained. No production field, score or timing prediction for scattered movement is added.

Return generation / control

Five-phase relation implementation

Returning generation and control compare only the changed phase acting back on the original phase of an actual changing line: the changed line generates or controls the original line. The site does not invent additional names for same-phase, draining or consuming relations, or for the original line acting on the changed line.

These names describe direction only. They do not independently determine the author’s reported outcome and are not converted into scores.

Six clashes

Fixed branch-pair implementation

The site separates clashes between individual line branches, clashes of month or day references with line branches, and the traditional six-clash hexagram classification. Six fixed branch pairs are calculable, but these different levels cannot be merged just because they share a name.

Six clash is a structural term, not an automatic statement of separation, failure or a change in illness.
