Original author’s interpretation summary

The author interprets the changing Chou Earth line at the host position, line four, combining with Zi day as being held back by circumstances. First-line Mao Wood Descendants changes to Chen Earth Officials/Ghosts, shifting attention to the daughter’s illness before departure. Being held by a combination and selecting people through line categories are the author’s own interpretive steps.

Outcome reported in the book

The text records that the person did not leave because the daughter was seriously ill and reports her death on a Chen day. This is an author report without independent personal records, medical records or date evidence.

Site review boundaries

  1. Old yang at line one and old yin at line four change Mingyi to Xiaoguo, matching the text.
  2. Chou and Zi form a fixed combination. The page checks structure only, not an automatic conclusion that every combination holds something back.
  3. Childhood illness and death are retained solely for historical text review, not modern health or travel decisions.

Reading boundaries

Reported outcomes represent the original author’s account, not independent historical verification. This case is not an automatic interpretation template for a user’s present result.

Topic tags identify structures involved in this case, not divinatory efficacy verified by the site.

Working translation of the site’s Chinese editorial case review, not a translation of the classical source. Native-language review is pending; original source names and locators remain in Chinese.

Six combinations

Fixed branch-pair implementation

The site calculates six fixed branch combinations and separates day combinations, combinations between line branches, and the traditional six-harmony hexagram classification. A case describing a six-harmony hexagram changing into a six-clash hexagram refers to whole-hexagram classification, not a replacement for individual branch relations.

No phase transformation is inferred. The name six harmony does not automatically determine relationships, marriage, transactions or other real-world outcomes.

Month and day branches

Calendrical structure implementation

The month reference uses the branch of the solar-term month; the day reference uses the day branch for the selected time-zone date. Zengshan Buyi and Yilin Buyi both use these references in subsequent discussions of strength, generation, control, clashes and combinations. The site calculates them with its calendar engine and cross-checks the month and day recorded in each case.

Month and day are chart references, not independent fortune judgments. A classical case without a year cannot identify a unique Gregorian date.
